Tranmere vs Tottenham Hotspur - Ollie Banks set for Tranmere return against Tottenham
Posted Thursday, January 03, 2019 by PA
Tranmere have Ollie Banks available for Friday’s FA Cup third-round clash with Tottenham at Prenton Park.
The midfielder, who is on loan from Doncaster, can be called upon having missed Tranmere’s last nine games in all competitions due to a hernia problem.
Shamal George has returned to Liverpool after his loan spell expired, while fellow goalkeeper Luke Pilling is back with Rovers following a loan at Ashton United.
Micky Mellon’s men are currently ninth in League Two.
Tottenham duo Jan Vertonghen and Mousa Dembele are nearing a return to action but will miss the tie.
Vertonghen (thigh) and Dembele (ankle) have been out for several weeks but are back in training.
Eric Dier is also back on grass but will not be involved on Friday night.
Erik Lamela has an illness and Victor Wanyama (knee) is a long-term absentee.
