Posted Friday, January 04, 2019 by PA
Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe confirmed he plans to make changes to the side for the FA Cup third-round tie against Brighton.
Defender Emerson Hyndman and midfielder Matt Worthington, who have returned from respective loan spells with Hibernian and Forest Green, could be involved.
Forward Jermain Defoe may not be included as he looks set to complete a loan move to Rangers.
Defender Adam Smith continues his rehabilitation from a knee injury, as do captain Simon Francis, midfielders Lewis Cook and Dan Gosling, who are all long-term absentees.
Brighton are sweating on the fitness of Bernardo.
The midfielder went off during the Seagulls’ 2-2 draw at West Ham on Wednesday with a hamstring injury and will be assessed.
Mat Ryan and Alireza Jahanbakhsh are on international duty at the Asian Cup and Jose Izquierdo continues to recover from a knee injury.
Manager Chris Hughton confirmed that Jason Steele will start in goal in place of regular number one Ryan.
