Accrington Stanley vs Ipswich - Accrington without Zanzala for Ipswich clash
Posted Friday, January 04, 2019 by PA
Accrington will be without the suspended Offrande Zanzala for their FA Cup tie with Ipswich.
Zanzala has been banned for three games after being sent off after just 26 minutes of the game against Bradford on New Year’s Day.
Stanley boss John Coleman will have Dan Barlaser available after the midfielder’s loan from Premiership side Newcastle was extended until the end of the season.
However, defender Nick Anderton has returned to Blackpool at the end of his loan spell and Matty Platt has returned to Blackburn.
Ipswich manager Paul Lambert has vowed to play as strong a side as possible, despite league survival being a priority.
Lambert’s side are bottom of the Championship and will be hoping a cup win can spark a turnaround in fortunes.
Goalkeeper Dean Gerken is a concern after suffering what Lambert described as a “heavy knock” against Millwall on New Year’s Day.
Cole Skuse and Emyr Huws trained on Thursday as they close in on a return to action, while loan signing Callum Elder could come into contention after his move from Leicester.
