Aldershot and Maidenhead share spoils

Aldershot saw their winless National League run extended to nine games as they played out a goalless draw against fellow strugglers Maidenhead.
The teams had shared seven goals in a Maidenhead victory on Boxing Day but there was no such drama on New Year’s Day, with Gerry McDonagh and Luke Wanadio going closest.
It was a cagey opening period but Wanadio dragged a shot wide for the home side in the best chance of the first half.
McDonagh saw his effort saved after the break and Wanadio brought another smart save from Carl Pentney from the resulting corner.
William Mannion was then forced into action to save from Max Worsfold and down the other end, substitute Josh Lelan headed against the bar moments before McDonagh had an effort disallowed for a foul on the goalkeeper.
