Rotherham will be without suspended pair Billy Jones and Richie Towell for their home game against Preston.
Defender Jones will sit out a one-game ban following his dismissal for two yellow-card offences in Saturday’s defeat at Bristol City.
Midfielder Towell will start a three-match suspension after he received a straight red card for his reckless challenge on Josh Brownhill.
Defender Zac Vyner returns to contention after he was ineligible to face his parent club at the weekend, but striker Jamie Proctor remains doubtful.
Preston boss Alex Neil will be forced to name another depleted squad due to injuries and suspension.
Midfielder Alan Browne and defender Ben Davies are still major doubts after missing Saturday’s home draw against Aston Villa due to hamstring injuries.
Defender Ben Pearson sits out the third game of his four-match ban, while Josh Earl (thigh), Brandon Barker, Sean Maguire and Louis Moult (all hamstring) are still unavailable.
Forwards Callum Robinson (hamstring) and Billy Bodin (knee), plus midfielder Josh Harrop (knee) remain long-term absentees.
