Scunthorpe will have Cameron Burgess back following a one-match suspension for their Sky Bet League One tie against Wycombe.
Boss Stuart McCall will be without midfielder Josh Morris for two months after he suffered a fractured fibula and strained ankle ligaments.
Goalkeeper Matt Gilks is close to making a comeback, having returned to training after tearing a cruciate ligament in May.
Rory Watson (arm), Ryan Colclough, Matthew Lund and Jordan Clarke (all knee) remain on the Irons’ long-term injured list.
Wycombe duo Darius Charles and Matt Bloomfield are nearing a return from injury but the clash with Scunthorpe could come too soon.
Midfielder Marcus Bean could also return for the Wanderers after missing last weekend’s AFC Wimbledon clash with an illness and not being named in the matchday squad against Burton on Boxing Day.
Striker Adebayo Akinfenwa, who has netted five goals this season, came off the bench at Burton but could feature more prominently after his return to fitness following a foot problem.
Wycombe will be looking for their first win in three matches when they travel to a Scunthorpe side who have lost nine successive League One games.
