Port Vale waiting on Connell Rawlinson

Connell Rawlinson will be assessed ahead of Port Vale’s home clash against Grimsby.
The defender missed Saturday’s goalless draw with Macclesfield through injury, with Mitch Clark coming in to replace him.
Ben Whitfield returned to the fold as a second-half substitute on Saturday and will hope to feature more prominently when the Mariners visit.
Vale have won just one of their last six League Two matches, and boss Neil Aspin said after the Macclesfield game: “We just have to start winning games at home. It’s average form for us, it’s not bad but it’s not great.”
Grimsby lost Luke Hendrie to injury in the second half of their 4-0 win over Notts County at the weekend.
It is not yet known how serious the problem is, but should the full-back miss out, Reece Hall-Johnson is likely to step in following his return from a groin injury.
Danny Collins (thigh) and Charles Vernam were missing from the matchday squad against the Magpies, with Alex Whitmore and Harry Cardwell coming in.
“We are getting stretched at the minute with injuries, which is frustrating, but that is football and we will deal with it,” said boss Michael Jolley.
