Newport’s Demetriou may return to action after long appearance run was ended

Mickey Demetriou will look to start a new streak for Newport as the Exiles host Forest Green.
Demetriou, who has a fractured cheekbone, saw his run of 75 successive league starts come to an end as he was named as a substitute for Saturday’s defeat at Lincoln.
Rovers will check on Andrew Crofts, who has a hamstring injury and has missed the last two games.
Boss Michael Flynn will also assess any knocks picked up during the weekend’s game but is likely to have a near fully-fit squad as they look to bounce back from successive defeats.
Forest Green will again be without goalkeeper Robert Sanchez.
The Spaniard has suffered a hamstring injury which saw him travel back to parent club Brighton for a scan, and he could be out for up to three weeks.
James Montgomery deputised for Saturday’s win and will keep his place, with young goalkeeper Lewis Thomas being recalled from a loan spell to provide back-up.
Manager Mark Cooper remains without midfielder Paul Digby, who serves the second of his three-match ban, but the rest of his squad came through the weekend’s game unscathed.
