ZINEDINE ZIDANE would love to boss Manchester United if Jose Mourinho is axed.
That's the claim from talkSPORT's new French journalist Julien Laurens, who believes ex-Real Madrid chief Zidane has superb man-management skills ideal for Old Trafford.
Zinedine Zidane would relish taking charge at Old Trafford after quitting Real following their third Champions League success in a row - a 3-1 win over Liverpool
Mourinho is under rising pressure after a 3-1 mauling at Liverpool and a senior United star telling SunSport the Portuguese chief has lost "90 per cent" of the dressing room.
Bookies also rate him the Premier League manager most likely to be axed.
Zidane was strongly linked with United earlier this year and now Laurens insists: “He would be tempted – I think he loves the idea.
"For him, the man management is his main quality, his biggest quality.
Jose Mourinho is rated by bookies as the Prem chief most likely to be axed next
French World Cup winner Zinedine Zidane is thought to be ready to return to management with another huge job - and some say Man Utd would be ideal
"He improved a lot at Real Madrid over the two-and-a-half years tactically, and in understanding the game, but where he was so good was managing that dressing room.
"He made everyone, even the smaller players, feel important.”
Legendary ex-Arsenal boss Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has also hinted the Prem would be the best destination for Zidane.
French World Cup winner Zinedane quit the Bernabeu in the summer after winning the Champions League three years in a row.
And Wenger told beIN SPORTS last week: “If you want to work at the top, it has to be England nowadays.
"But there are many uncertainties with Brexit and the uncertainty: will the Premier League continue to dominate financially? We'll know soon.
"England is the only country with six clubs that can fight for the championship.
"In all the other countries basically you can say in December who will win the championship and there are some countries, like France, where you can say it in September.”
Arsene Wenger, who was succeeded as Arsenal boss by Unai Emery, believes his fellow Frenchman Zinedine Zidane would love the challenge of the Premier League
