Ebbsfleet maintain unbeaten run against Aldershot

Ebbsfleet extended their unbeaten run in the Vanarama National League to seven games by beating Aldershot 2-0 at the Recreation Ground.
A first half of few chances saw the best opportunity fall to Ebbsfleet’s Jack Payne, who smashed a shot from the edge of the area off the crossbar.
The visitors took the lead two minutes into the second half when Michael Cheek got in behind the Aldershot defence and slotted past goalkeeper Will Mannion.
Fleet then hit the bar shortly afterwards as Marvin McCoy deflected Danny Kedwell’s cross onto the woodwork.
Kedwell, though, made sure of the victory from the penalty spot after Luke Howell tripped Corey Whitely in the box after 67 minutes.
Ebbsfleet could have added gloss to the scoreline but Jack King saw his header crash back off the bar with seven minutes left.
