Leaders Leyton Orient held by stubborn Shots

Leyton Orient’s lead at the top of the National League was cut to a single point as they were held to a goalless draw by Aldershot at Brisbane Road.
Jobi McAnuff nearly broke the deadlock for the O’s on the quarter-hour, but his free-kick rebounded from the bar.
The hosts dominated the first half but couldn’t break through. Every time divisional top scorer Macauley Bonne got hold of the ball, two stern Shots defenders combined to snuff him out.
Boss Justin Edinburgh brought James Brophy on in the second half to try to make a difference, and the substitute had a dangerous shot deflected into the side-netting.
The Shots came close to snatching it late on when Joe Widdowson cleared off the line from Adam McDonnell.
