Loris Karius Has Another Disastrous Performance In Europe
Posted Friday, November 30, 2018 by thesportbible.com
Loris Karius will always be inextricably linked with the Champions League and the 2018 final in Kyiv but the German goalkeeper, now on loan at Besiktas, has now had a stinker in the Europa League too.
There's every chance that Loris Karius will go on to have an excellent football career, at 25 years old he's still relatively young for a goalkeeper, but the German may struggle to ever shake off the 2018 Champions League final.
As well as being beaten by one of the greatest goals in a cup final ever the then Liverpool goalkeeper made two huge mistakes as the Reds lost 3-1 to Real Madrid.
The nature of the mistakes made it difficult for him to recover from at Anfield and Jurgen Klopp decided to splash the cash on Alisson Becker to replace Karius, sending the former Mainz man to Turkey with Besiktas.
Unfortunately for Karius things haven't been plain sailing for him away from the Premier League and on Thursday night he had a shocker in the Europa League.
Besiktas played away against Sarpsborg and found themselves 2-0 down after six minutes. For the first the keeper ran out to the striker only to miss the ball and man and for the second he was caught off his line and lobbed from 30 odd yards out:

Wtf is happening to Karius?

Happened to Karius, rather??
Man's life has never been the same after the Kiev incident... And now he's having a mess of a game
The man between the sticks ended up having a decent game after the opening few minutes and saved his team on a few occasions.
In the end the former Liverpool man had his team to thank for hiding his early mistakes though as they actually came back to win the game 3-2. The result leaves Besiktas second in their group with one game left.
You hope that one day Karius can shake May 2018 but it might be very difficult.
