AFC Bournemouth 1 - 2 Arsenal: Sunday specialist Aubameyang continues Arsenal run at Bournemouth
The Gabon striker has 20 goals since joining the Gunners in January from Borussia Dortmund - but is particularly prolific on a specific day

Normally reserved as a day of rest, Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is quickly developing into a Sunday specialist in the Premier League.

The Gabon striker was the match-winner as the Gunners extended their unbeaten run to 17 games with a 2-1 victory over Bournemouth at the Vitality Stadium.

He toe-poked home the winner mid-way through the second-half from Sead Kolasinac's cross to secure the three points, after Josh King had earlier cancelled out Jefferson Lerma's own goal.

Aubameyang has now been directly involved in 23 goals in 26 appearances in England's top flight since arriving from Borussia Dortmund last January.

And courtesy of Arsenal playing their European football exclusively in the Europa League during Aubameyang's spell at the club, which has seen several of their league matches moved, many of his contributions have come on a Sunday.

In fact, 14 of his 18 Premier League strikes have come on the final day of the week, accounting for 78% of his total.

Unai Emery will hope he can continue that run when Arsenal host Tottenham Hotspur in the first north London derby next Sunday.

They are scheduled to have at least two more games on a Sunday this season; the trip to Southampton on December 16 and the final game of the season away at Burnley.

But their progress in Europe's second tier club competition - they have already reached the round of 32 with two group games to spare - will likely lead to further opportunities for Aubameyang to improve on his tally.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the win, which took Arsenal within a point of fourth place Chelsea, the 29-year-old said: "We knew it would be a tough game today. But it is good to win.
