OLIVIER GIROUD has admitted he would have been over the drink-drive limit on the night Hugo Lloris was arrested.

The two footballers, along with Arsenal ace Laurent Koscielny, enjoyed a night out in London back in August.

Olivier Giroud has admitted that if he was driving on the night Hugo Lloris was over the drink-drive limit, he would have also failed a breathalyser test - this was them out on the night with Laurent Koscielny and friends

But in the early hours of the morning, Lloris was pulled over by police in his new £65,000 Porsche Panamera in the West End.

He failed a roadside breath test, and was released on bail after spending seven hours inside a prison cell.

The following month the Tottenham captain pleaded guilty to being more than twice over the legal limit.

The French World Cup winner was fined £50,000 and banned from the road for 20 months after pleading guilty.

And Giroud admitted that he would have also failed a roadside breathalyser IF he had been driving and pulled over the same night.

The Chelsea striker was taking part in a yes or no answering game on French TV show Telefoot when asked the question.

SunSport reported how Lloris admitted his drink-driving charge left him embarrassed.

Lloris told Le Journal du Dimanche: "It is pretty tricky and embarrassing.

"This is not the image I want to give, but mistakes happen. It must not affect me as a man. It does not change who I am or the professional that I am.

"I have always devoted everything to football and respected what you have to do off the field."

It is understood Spurs fined Lloris, 31, two weeks wages — around £300,000.

As Spurs' number 1, Lloris has made over 250 appearances for the club who finished third in the Premier League last season.
