On Thursday morning, Barcelona announced that Philippe Coutinho has picked up an injury and will be sidelined for between two and three weeks.
The Brazilian suffered a small rupture in the biceps femoris of his left leg and will miss the international break as well as the Catalan side's next league clash, against Real Betis this weekend.
Ernesto Valverde will now need to get creative with his starting line up and, depending on whether or not Lionel Messi is ready to return, Ousmane Dembele will be waiting in the wings as Coutinho's most likely replacement.
If the Argentine isn't passed fit, Malcom, who impressed in the Champions League against Inter Milan, may well get his chance.
The Brazilian winger scored the all-important goal in Barcelona 's 1-1 draw with the Italians, which secured their safe passage to the last 16 of Europe's elite competition.
