Real Madrid news: Antonio Conte may replace Julen Lopetegui
Real Madrid have been linked with both Conte and Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho following their decision to part with Julen Lopetegui on Monday.
Lopetegui lasted just 10 La Liga matches at the Bernabeu and his head rolled following a chastening 5-1 El Clasico defeat to Barcelona.
Real Madrid have installed Santiago Solari as manager on an interim basis while they ponder their next move.
Solari’s era began positively last night with a 4-0 thumping of Melilla in the Copa del Rey.
Karim Benzema, Marco Asensio, Alvaro Odriozola and Cristo Ramon Gonzalez Perez all found the net.
Despite that win, though, Real Madrid want an established coach to bring them back to the La Liga summit.
And Ok Diario have revealed that Conte has issued a major demand to take over.
It is claimed the Italian wants total control of the club’s affairs - something only Mourinho has been afforded.
Even Zinedine Zidane, who won three consecutive Champions League titles, had little say in personnel.

He never wanted Thibaut Courtois; he preferred Keylor Navas. He also insisted on Benzema staying despite the forward being on the wane.
Ok Diario add that Conte also wants more than a two-year contract.
And those demands, it seems, have seen him ruled out of the running.
Another manager linked with the Real job is Roberto Martinez.
And Andy Gray has backed that appointment.

"It makes perfect sense to me,” Gray told beIN SPORTS.
"If there’s not a huge, dynamic character out there that they can go to.
"Roberto Martinez, as Real Madrid are concerned he’s Spanish for a start. Perfect language, can go in there, bang - hit the ground running.
"He’s got the feeling that he’s the best coach in the world.”
