AFC Bournemouth vs Manchester United - Bournemouth captain Simon Francis doubtful
Posted Saturday, November 03, 2018 by PA
Bournemouth captain Simon Francis is a doubt for the home game against Manchester United.
The defender is nursing a slight groin problem following the Carabao Cup win over Norwich in midweek. A scan on the injury has shown no serious damage and Cherries boss Eddie Howe will make a late decision on Francis’ fitness.
Joshua King will remain absent. The Norwegian forward has missed the last two games with an ankle injury and will not be ready to return against his former club.
Antonio Valencia, Marouane Fellaini and Diogo Dalot remain absent for United.
United captain Valencia has been absent for a month, with manager Jose Mourinho confirming a knee injury will keep him out of Saturday’s trip to the south coast.
Fellaini and Dalot remain out with injuries sustained during the international break, but Jesse Lingard and Alexis Sanchez are back to full fitness. United boss Mourinho did not provide an update on Phil Jones, who last featured for the club on September 25.
