Newport without suspended Franks for Morecambe match
Posted Thursday, October 25, 2018 by PA
Newport will again be without Fraser Franks when they host League Two strugglers Morecambe on Saturday.
Franks is suspended following a red card in the 4-1 loss to Crawley last weekend, while Joss Labadie is not yet ready to feature after rejoining the club earlier this week.
County manager Michael Flynn could welcome back Tyreeq Bakinson if he has recovered from a dead leg.
But Tyler Forbes, Matty Dolan, Keanu Marsh-Brown and Andrew Crofts are all doubtful as County look to consolidate a place in the top four.
Morecambe head to south Wales pn the back of successive 1-0 home defeats against Colchester and Mansfield.
But while injuries continue to make life difficult for manager Jim Bentley, he will have been encouraged by aspects of both performances.
Midfielder Aaron Wildig missed the Mansfield game due to injury, meaning a first league start for Ben Hedley, and Bentley will assess all his available options before tackling Morecambe’s high-flying opponents.
The Shrimps will arrive at Rodney Parade 15 points and 16 places behind their opponents.
