Derby County vs Sheffield United - Curtis Davies and Evans in contention to face play
Posted Friday, October 19, 2018 by PA
Curtis Davies and George Evans are in contention to start for Derby as they welcome Sky Bet Championship table-toppers Sheffield United to Pride Park.
Defender Davies has not featured since the opening day of the season because of a hamstring injury but was an unused substitute as the Rams drew 1-1 at QPR before the international break.
Evans has not been seen since injuring his knee on his league debut for Derby against Ipswich on August 21, but he too is pushing for a place in Frank Lampard’s starting XI.
Fellow midfielder Joe Ledley is facing an extended spell on the sidelines after having a minor operation on his hip.
Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder has no injury or suspension concerns as he confirmed Conor Washington will be available.
The forward requested to be omitted from Northern Ireland’s squad for their double header against Austria and Bosnia and Herzegovina for personal reasons but will be in contention to face Derby.
Midfielder Paul Coutts has come off the bench in the Blades’ last two fixtures following his recovery from a broken leg and may be pushing for a starting berth.
However, Sheffield United are on a four-match winning streak so Wilder may be reluctant to tinker with a successful formula.
