LIVERPOOL boss Jurgen Klopp could swoop for Napoli contact rebel Piotr Zielnksi, according to reports in Italy.
The midfielder’s still has three years left to run on his current deal.
But club chiefs in Naples are reportedly desperate to tie him down to new contract so they can increase his release clause, which is currently £57million (€65m).
Calciomercato claim they want that put up to £114million (€130m) but that Zielnski is stalling.
Liverpool and Juventus are said to be interested in getting Zielinski on-board.
The Reds were linked with a move for the Polish star back in 2016 when he was at Udinese.
But Zielnski, 24, decided on a move to Naples as he was keen to stay in Italy at the time.
He has gone on to make 96 appearances for Napoli, scoring 15 goals.
This season has seen him make a superb start, netting twice in just two appearances.
The Pole came on as a late sub for Carlo Ancelotti’s side as they beat Liverpool 1-0 in the Champions League last month - so Klopp has seen him up close.
The German boss has been linked with a number of midfielders as the January transfer window draws closer.
Aaron Ramsey continues to be mentioned as his contract at Arsenal is up at the end of the season and there is no new offer on the table.
Paris Saint Germain’s Adrien Rabiot is another reported target, but they could face huge competition for his signature.
It is also reported that Klopp wants to bring in in another striker to provide competition for Roberto Firmino and Daniel Sturridge
Zielenski’s fellow Pole Krzysztof Piatek is the latest player to be linked with the Kop.
The Genoa striker, 23, is Serie A’s top scorer this season, with nine goals in just seven games.
