Tranmere top-scorer James Norwood back from ban

Tranmere will welcome back top-scorer James Norwood from suspension as they go in search of their third successive Sky Bet League Two win against managerless Macclesfield.
The eight-goal striker sat out last weekend’s thrilling 4-3 victory at Morecambe after being sent off for two bookable offences in the preceding 1-0 triumph against Lincoln.
His return may mean Paul Mullin could drop down to the substitutes’ bench, while fellow striker Cole Stockton’s ongoing hernia problem may preclude his involvement.
Defender Richard Sutton returned to training last week and will be pushing for a squad berth.
Macclesfield have no new injury or suspension problems but joint caretaker managers Danny Whitaker and Neil Howarth have a lengthy absence list ahead of their first league game in charge.
The pair have been placed in temporary charge following the departure of Mark Yates, who left the club earlier this week after the Silkmen’s winless start to the season in League Two.
Midfielder Whitaker will be unavailable to help Macclesfield’s cause on the pitch because of a knee injury that has seen him miss the club’s last three fixtures.
Midfield trio Callum Evans (ankle), Ryan Lloyd (Achilles) and Elliott Durrell (groin) and forward Jordan Ponticelli (foot) are all long-term injury concerns.
