Yeates the difference for Eastleigh
Posted Wednesday, September 26, 2018 by PA
Mark Yeates rekindled his former Premier League pedigree to help Eastleigh
sink Boreham Wood 1-0 at Ten Acres.
Both sides sparred in the first half without committing too many men
forward, leading to a first-half stalemate.
When the match started to open up in the final quarter, Boreham stopper
Ryan Huddart was swift into action with a save to deny Yeates.
The ex-Tottenham midfielder was also instrumental in a later chance
for Andy Hessenthaler’s men, his cross finding Chris Zebroski to nod against the post.
Eastleigh’s pressing was rewarded 10 minutes from time when Yeates,
a class apart on the night, cut inside and curled low past Huddart to win it.
