Dean Moxey and Nicky Law on target as Exeter edge Mansfield

Mansfield saw their unbeaten start to the season ended after a 2-1 defeat at home to Exeter City.
Dean Moxey gave the Grecians a half-time lead with a well-taken finish before Nicky Law doubled the advantage just before the hour mark.
Mansfield pulled a goal back five minutes after their opponents’ second through Tyler Walker’s tap-in, but they were unable to find an equaliser.
Stags had started strongly with Alex MacDonald and Otis Khan forcing Christy Pym into saves inside the first 10 minutes.
Pym then did well well to beat away Walker’s powerful shot after 13 minutes as Mansfield stepped up the pressure.
But they faded after a good start and fell behind thanks to Moxey’s beautifully curling effort from the edge of the box after 31 minutes.
The lead was doubled when Law headed home from close range after 57 minutes after Pierce Sweeney’s cross carved Mansfield open.
Walker bagged his sixth goal of the campaign after 62 minutes with a toe-poke to give Mansfield some late hope but the visitors held on for maximum points.
