Reuben Reid penalty rescues Forest Green point at MK Dons

Reuben Reid’s emphatically taken 80th-minute penalty rescued a richly-deserved 1-1 draw for Forest Green Rovers to preserve the unbeaten League Two record of both themselves and hosts MK Dons.
The 30-year-old striker smashed his spot-kick high beyond goalkeeper Lee Nicholls after former MK loanee George C Williams had been felled by Jordan Moore-Taylor.
Williams had only been on the pitch for 13 minutes as a substitute as Rovers boss Mark Cooper made three second-half changes to seek belated reward for their overall dominance.
Rovers monopolised possession from the start but fell behind when goalkeeper Robert Sanchez carelessly dropped a looping George B Williams cross and Chuks Aneke calmly kept his cool to find the empty net in the 31st minute.
The visitors continued their pressure after the break with Paul Digby and Joseph Mills forcing Nicholls into important saves.
Both sides went all out for an elusive winner with substitute Robbie Simpson’s overhead kick flying just over while Kieran Agard was denied by a last-ditch Mills block, with both still unbeaten this season.
