Reading defender Chris Gunter is hoping make his first appearance of the season in the Carabao Cup tie against Watford.
The Wales international has played no part so far due to a hamstring injury, but played 45 minutes for the under-23s at the weekend and could start.
Boss Paul Clement, who has reported no new injuries following Saturday’s draw at Aston Villa, confirmed he will freshen up his side but will not make wholesale changes.
Josh Sims could make his first start following his two substitute appearances since arriving on loan from Southampton and Sam Walker is expected to replace Vito Mannone in goal.
Gerard Deulofeu, Nathaniel Chalobah and Miguel Britos could be in contention to feature for Watford.
A lack of match practice meant that the intensity of Deulofeu’s and Chalobah’s
training was being increased.
Britos had been suffering with a knock.
Stefano Okaka is also pushing for selection following his recent recovery from
a leg injury.
