Nottingham Forest will be without forward Lewis Grabban for their Carabao Cup second-round clash with Newcastle on Wednesday.
The striker is struggling with an Achilles issue and will be missing at the City Ground.
Aitor Karanka’s side came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Birmingham on Saturday and fit-again Joe Lolley will be pushing for a start after scoring from the bench.
Adlene Guedioura’s fractured cheekbone will keep him out and Karanka may yet make several changes.
Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles will miss the second round trip to Nottingham Forest with an ankle injury.
Central defender Lascelles was left out of the team which lost 2-1 to Chelsea in the Premier League on Sunday amid reports of a rift with manager Rafael Benitez.
However, the Spaniard has revealed he, midfielders Jonjo Shelvey (thigh) and Matt Ritchie (knee) and full-back Javier Manquillo (calf) will sit out once again.
Midfielder Isaac Hayden is suspended, but winger Kenedy is available after being ineligible against his parent club and youngsters Jamie Sterry and Sean Longstaff could get their chance.
