Colchester United vs Northampton Town - Dickenson and Norris to be assessed
Posted Friday, August 24, 2018 by PA
Colchester will check on winger Brennan Dickenson and striker Luke Norris ahead of Saturday’s Sky Bet League Two match against Northampton.
Dickenson and Norris both picked up unspecified knocks during the 6-0 thrashing of Crewe on Tuesday night, when they were both on target, so continue to be assessed.
U’s boss John McGreal had named an unchanged side in midweek, but could be forced to freshen up the team.
French forward Mikael Mandron, an unused substitute against the Railwaymen, is pressing for a recall.
Northampton boss Dean Austin expects to have a fully fit squad for the trip to Essex.
Defender Aaron Pierre is available again having been rested for the midweek defeat at Morecambe as the club manage his return after a serious groin/hip injury last season.
Midfielder Shaun McWilliams has stepped up his training following a hamstring problem, so could be involved again.
Fit-again midfielder John-Joe O’Toole (ankle/shin) is pressing for a recall, while right-back Shay Facey and forward Junior Morias have both overcome their recent fitness issues.
