Scunthorpe manager Nick Daws could be forced into another reshuffle for the visit of Barnsley as he seeks to shore up a side which has conceded 10 goals in three matches.
The four changes for Wednesday’s home match against Fleetwood, including giving experienced centre-back Rory McArdle his first league start of the season and the return of on-loan Manchester United defender Cameron Borthwick-Jackson, did not have the desired effect as the Iron were thrashed 5-0.
Striker Stephen Humphrys was taken off as a precaution after complaining of a hamstring problem and is a doubt
Midfielder Funso Ojo played his first 90 minutes of the season and is set to retain his place.
Barnsley could be short up front after seeing striker Tom Bradshaw join Millwall on an initial loan deal which will become permanent in January.
Bradshaw has started every match this season, playing all but 25 minutes, but will is no longer available to manager Daniel Stendel.
Midfielder Lloyd Isgrove has missed the last two matches with a muscle problem and remains doubtful.
Ryan Hedges and Zeki Fryers are still recovering from injuries sustained in pre-season.
