Defensive issues for Walsall ahead of opener against Plymouth

Walsall could have an issue in central defence ahead of their opening game of the season at home against Plymouth.
Jon Guthrie is the only first-team centre-half at the club heading into Saturday. Saddlers boss Dean Keates could make a signing before the match, otherwise youngster Dan Vann or the experienced Adam Chambers is likely to play alongside Guthrie.
New signings Zeli Ismail, Andy Cook and Josh Ginnelly are all available and all three of them look to have a good chance of starting against Argyle.
Long-term absentees Joe Edwards (knee) and Kory Roberts (broken leg) will be out until 2019.
Plymouth have added 11 new players to their ranks over the summer so boss Derek Adams ha a wealth of options.
Scott Wootton and Neil Canavan have featured in central defence often during pre-season but Rob Edwards was a mainstay in the team last season and he could get the nod on Saturday.
Joe Riley is likely to slot into right-back should that be the case.
Plymouth managed to keep hold of Graham Carey over the summer and he will be a threat from midfield.
