To Russia with love comes Nissu Cauti, known as the "girlfriend" of the Peru team.

While the rest of us will be putting our shirt on her heroes not winning the World Cup, she will take her top off whenever they score.

Nissu's own brand of super-fan antics first sprung to attention three years ago when Peru battled their way to third place at the Copa America in Chile.

Bravo, Peru. Bra off, Nissu.

TV cameras swarmed around the model as she took the South American tradition of cheerleading from the stands to new peaks.

After Peru's Group C opener against Denmark on Saturday evening, Nissu will be hoping to peel off against France next Thursday and Australia on Tuesday, June 26.

She has already posed nude, after a World Cup qualifier against Venezuela.

And the outfit she wore for a feature by Peruvian sports newspaper La10.pe was equally non-existent.

But Nissu's most sporting gesture was a promise to strip off and wear the Uruguay kit if Luis Suarez and Co beat Peru in a qualifier two years ago in Montevideo.

In retrospect it was hardly a disincentive for Uruguay.

And sure enough Edinson Cavani bagged the only goal for the hosts.

Nissu ensured the winners were extra lucky Guays by keeping her word.

In an era where, on and off the pitch, women's sport is being treated more maturely and seriously than ever before, some might feel she is sending out a strange message.

But Peru are you kidding if you cannot raise even a little smile at Nissu's enthusiastic backing for her country.
