Real Madrid president Florentino Perez has laughed off reports that the club are going to sign AS Roma goalkeeper Alisson for £78 million.
The talented Brazilian shot-stopper has attracted attention from a host of Europe's biggest clubs in the last year, with real interest coming from Liverpool.
However, Madrid president Perez laughed off claims his side are set to spend a vast amount of money to bring Alisson to the Bernabeu.
Speaking to reporters (via GiveMeSport), Perez said: "There will be some (transfers) but little and special. They talk today about Alisson, but for £78 million, Liverpool can buy him.
"We have the best group I have ever seen in Madrid. There were many good ones before too, but now it's the perfect squad."
This news will excite Liverpool, who have targeted Alisson for a long time now.
With Loris Karius deemed unworthy of holding down a starting place in the starting XI and Simon Mignolet dropped to second-choice at Anfield, a move for Alisson seems high on the agenda.
Alisson is part of Brazil's 23-man squad for the World Cup and is expected to start in goal ahead of Manchester City goalkeeper Ederson. Tite's men open their campaign against Switzerland on June 17.
