A Spanish court has found Radamel Falcao guilty for tax fraud and has given him a 16 month jail term along with a nine-million euro fine.
According to the Spanish legislation, prison is only mandatory for individuals that have been sentenced for more than two years and the ruling was immediately suspended.
The Colombia international's sentence was due to two tax crimes related on false income statements and image rights fraud, during his tenure at Los Rojiblancos.
El Confidencial has been able to access the prosecution's order, which states that the Monaco star has been accused of defrauding 822,609 euros in 2012 and in 4,839,253 euros in 2013.
Several other players have been also accused for similar crimes over the last few years, including Xabi Alonso, Angel Di Maria and Ricardo Carvalho, Luka Modric and Marcelo.
