WORLD CUP 2018: England football fans are preparing to give the Russian ultras a fight
Hundreds of 80s troublemakers are bent on revenge after Three Lions’ supporters were attacked at the European Championship in France two years ago, according to the “supporter”.
The 57-year-old, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “This is payback time. They’re a gang of bullies.
"We want to fight one-on-one in the streets and we’ll see how hard they are then.
"All of us are sick to death of the Russians after what happened in France. They won’t know what hit them.”
England fans Andrew Bache and Stewart Gray were left comatose amid horrific scenes in Marseille when supporters were "ambushed” by Russians wielding knuckle dusters among other weapons.
The hooligan, a Middlesbrough fan, says he is a member of a faction called the Smoggies Elite.
He has been handed eight banning orders in his life and is currently on the football blacklist.
He claimed hooligans from a string of English clubs have been encouraged to team up after the shocking scenes that marred Liverpool’s Champions League clash with Roma last month.
Reds fans were chased by Italians and dad Sean Cox was left fighting for his life.
There are almost 2,000 banning orders currently in place and British police have the power to confiscate passports until the tournament ends.
But hooligans from the big north-east clubs and their rivals in Manchester and Merseyside have hatched a plan to make it to Russia.
They don’t even care about going to the three England games.
The hooligan said: “We don’t need tickets – we don’t really care about the football.
"We’ve got a plan for how to get over there and avoid detection and we’ll hunt out these Russian hooligans.”
England followers have been warned they face long prison stretches in some of Europe’s most dangerous jails if they cause trouble in Russia.
Despite this, would-be fighters are determined to be ready and waiting for Gareth Southgate’s boys’ first match with Tunisia in Volgograd on June 18.
The fan said: “I’m not worried about being thrown in a Russian prison. We can’t wait to get out there.
“The headlines will be about what happens off the pitch, not on it.”
