Neymar could make a swoop for Neymar in the summer
France internationals Pogba and Martial are being linked with their country’s richest club.
And that could give United the opportunity to sign Neymar, 26, who does not appear totally settled in Paris.
Any deal would see United having to trade both Pogba and Martial – plus around £50m for the Brazilian.
United, meanwhile, have taken steps to tie up their promising young goalkeepers.
Mourinho has turned down loan inquires for third-choice keeper Joel Pereira, 21, who is in line for a pay rise.
The Portugal Under-21s international is highly rated by the United boss, who wants him to continue to work in training with the club’s top two - David De Gea and Sergio Romero.
And Mourinho is also looking into the situation with England Under-21s international Dean Henderson, who has had an outstanding season on loan at Shrewsbury.
Pogba and Martial could be used in a deal to land Neymar
Several clubs are eyeing Henderson, 21, who is out of contract in the summer, but is now likely to be offered a new contract at Old Trafford.
The progress being made by Pereira and Henderson will lead to a permanent move for Sam Johnstone, 25, wanted by Aston Villa, where he is on loan.
