Raith win keeps heat on Ayr

Raith kept up the pressure on leaders Ayr as goals from Bobby Barr and Iain Davidson secured them a 2-0 home win against East Fife.
Midfielder Barr opened the scoring from inside the penalty area shortly before half-time and defender Davidson’s late header clinched back-to-back wins for Raith, who won 2-1 at Airdrie on Saturday and are now within three points of the summit.
In the only other League One fixture, Colin Hamilton’s late header clinched Arbroath a 2-1 win at second-bottom Albion, who slipped to a fourth straight defeat.
Hamilton struck in the 89th minute after Ryan Wallace had cancelled out Sean Higgins’ opener for Albion before half-time.
Arbroath leapfrogged Alloa into third place and have lost just two of their last 11 league matches.
