Northern Ireland Under-21s were held to a goalless draw by Iceland in their Euro 2019 qualifier at Coleraine Showgrounds.
Ian Baraclough’s side created the better chances, with Stevenage striker Ben Kennedy heading over from close range in the 56th minute and forcing Sindri Olafsson into a good save with a curling effort eight minutes from time.
Iceland’s best opportunity fell to Tryggvi Hrafn Haraldsson who shot wide after being set up by Albert Gudmundsson in the 66th minute.
The point moves Northern Ireland to within four points of group leaders Spain, who have played two games less, and keeps them three ahead of fourth-placed Iceland.
