German legend Lothar Matthaus: I know Thomas Tuchel talking to Arsenal

German legend Lothar Matthaus has revealed former Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel is in contact with Arsenal.

Jupp Heynckes is currently in charge at Bayern Munich until the end of the season and Tuchel has reportedly turned down taking the role in the summer having been in talks with another European giant.

When asked if Tottenham's Mauricio Pochettino could take over at the Allianz Arena, Matthaus replied: "You know, I'm a journalist too. I work for Sky, we have to make headlined every day.

"Speak speculation, always, but I think Thomas Tuchel can be the favourite, ex-coach from Borussia Dortmund, but I know he's the same in touch with Arsenal.

"You knows what happens behind the doors."
