Paul Pogba was named on the bench by Jose Mourinho
IAN WRIGHT believes Paul Pogba's agent could look to engineer a move for the Manchester United midfielder after he was dropped to the bench against Sevilla.
After missing Manchester United's 2-0 win over Huddersfield in the FA Cup, Pogba was expected to start against Sevilla in the Champions League.
But when the line-ups were revealed Pogba was surprisingly left on the bench with youngster Scott McTominay selected alongside Nemanja Matic and Ander Herrera.
When pressed prior to the match, United boss Jose Mourinho was reluctant to discuss why he picked Pogba as a substitute but hinted at a fitness issue.
And Wright has suggested a potential repercussion of Mourinho's decision is Pogba's agent Mino Raiola looking to sell the midfielder.
Wright told BBC Radio Five Live: "As soon as a player gets left out, his agent's on the phone to people asking "why has he been left out?" - then people start getting touted, they say "he's not happy".
"I totally get that that's what happens now.
"We're in a day and age where players go on strike if they're left out.
"They get interest from somewhere else and they don't want to play anymore."
Wright added: "I think Paul Pogba has lost some confidence. He is a confidence man. He needs to be playing.
"He needs to be handled a little differently from how he is now.
"It seems like Jose Mourinho had lost a bit of faith and his confidence is gone. He is someone who needs to be loved."
