The Spanish keeper, who has 14 months left on his current Old Trafford deal, is once again interesting Real Madrid.
The Spanish giants failed to land De Gea two years ago - but are planning another big-money swoop for his services this summer.
However, the ex-Atletico Madrid ace, 27, who cost United £18.3m in 2011, appears more than content - and settled - with his life in Manchester.
De Gea said: “Time flies by so quickly. I’ve been here seven years and I am happy.
Manchester United star David De Gea has hinted he will stay at Old Trafford
"A lot has happened to me - some very good, some not so good, - but to be honest I am just really happy.
"I feel like an important player in the dressing room. I am one of the oldest in the team.
"It makes me happy to see the younger players coming through - and trying to make United big.”
Manchester United star David De Gea has been targeted by Real Madrid
As for the persistent talk linking him with an £85m exit to Real Madrid in June, the Manchester United star has dismissed it irrelevant.
He added: “I don’t think it’s ever good to discuss the future or what may happen.
"Only the present, feeling well, playing well and helping United is important.”
