Birmingham vs Huddersfield Town - Blow for Birmingham as Grounds suffers knee injury
Posted Tuesday, February 06, 2018 by PA
Jonathan Grounds is set for an extended spell on the sidelines with a knee injury.
The defender came off in Saturday’s 3-1 win at Sheffield Wednesday and is likely to be missing for a number of weeks and is certainly out of the FA Cup replay against Huddersfield on Tuesday.
Jacques Maghoma is a doubt with a groin problem having missed the weekend after coming off in the 3-0 victory over Sunderland in midweek.
David Davis and Maikel Kieftenbeld are on nine bookings and, with the derby against Aston Villa on Sunday, are likely to be rested.
Huddersfield defender Christopher Schindler and striker Laurent Depoitre will miss the tie.
Both players are still nursing ankle problems which forced them to sit out Saturday’s defeat against Manchester United.
Midfielder Danny Williams (dead leg) is not likely to be fit until Sunday’s visit of Bournemouth, Elias Kachunga (knee) remains sidelined and January signing Alex Pritchard is cup-tied having already played for Norwich in the competition.
