Walsall could hand debuts to their three deadline-day loan signings against MK Dons.
Defenders Krystian Bielik and Jack Fitzwater joined from Arsenal and West Brom respectively while forward Julien Ngoy signed from Stoke.
Fellow new signing Justin Shaibu, who moved on loan from Brentford this week, is pushing for his first start.
Nicky Devlin missed Tuesday’s 3-1 defeat at Blackburn with a hamstring injury and could return while Florent Cuvelier (ankle) is a doubt.
Dan Micciche takes charge of his first league game as MK Dons boss with the club looking to move out of the relegation zone.
Micciche bolstered his squad with the loan signings of experienced defender Elliott Ward of Blackburn and Stoke’s promising young full-back Josh Tymon.
Both go straight into the squad for the trip to Walsall, although Chuks Aneke is missing.
The striker was sent off at Northampton and serves the second of a three-match ban.
