Messi's father admits clause that could see player go if Barcelona are in lower league

Lionel's Messi's father, Jorge, admitted that there was a clause in the player's contract that would allow him to leave Barcelona if they were not in a competitive league, following claims that he wanted it added due to concern over Catalan independence.
Spanish newspaper El Mundo, claimed on Thursday that a clause existed that would allow the player to leave if Catalonia did separate from Spain.
"All that has been said is not true," Jorge Messi told Argentine radio.
"There is an agreement that Lionel will remain at the club as long as they are playing in a top league.
"If Catalonia gets independence then Lionel would remain as long as they were in a competitive league."
