Mourinho takes his Manchester United outfit to the Emirates for what promises to be an explosive clash against the managerial rival he loves to hate.

Mourinho and Arsene Wenger have been bitter enemies for more than a decade and both will be desperate to win.

United can ill-afford to lose more ground on runaway Premier League leaders Manchester City.

But Mourinho is refusing to get wound up about the prospect of doing battle with Wenger again and the possible consequences of dropping points.

Mourinho said: "I play things a game at a time. I play a game at a time and it is the way to do it.

"Yesterday I was watching an interesting movie, Borg versus McEnroe and Borg's coach was telling him that all the time - one point at a time.

"Think about just one point and I tell my players to just think about one game at a time.

"It is just about the game against Arsenal. We don't think about how many points behind we are.

"We just think about Arsenal. It is difficult enough for us to be focused on other things. So we must focus on this."

Since becoming United boss, Mourinho has not won a single game away from home at one of his top six rivals.

To make matters worse he has been accused of using negative tactics on the road and parking the bus.

But Mourinho, who will be without defender Eric Bailly while midfielder Nemanja Matic is also a major doubt, reckons that's rubbish and has vowed to attack the Gunners.

The Manchester United boss, who refused to rule out a summer swoop on the Gunners for German ace Mesut Ozil, said: "When we have the ball we are going to attack with 11 players because the goalkeeper knows what to do when we have the ball.

"And when Arsenal have the ball, we will defend with 11 players.

"It depends with what you think about risk. I think in the beginning of football, the guy who decides to say defenders, attackers, this guy was bad.

"Because everybody has to defend and attack, especially in modern football, so for me you can say what you want.

"But my goalkeeper needs to know what to do when his team has the ball, how to attack, and my striker needs to know how to defend and what to do. For me it is simple."
