Barcelona ace Lionel Messi's new contract carries two new - and significant - clauses, it has been revealed.
Messi put pen to paper on a deal to 2021 on Saturday morning, which included a buyout clause raised to €700m.
Diario Gol says the Argentine's salary is set at a base of €40m - but can jump to €60m based on titles and personal success. Messi has also been handed a massive €100m signing on bonus, which will be paid over four years.
However, along with the finances, there is also a clause giving Messi the right to voice and vote on potential new signings.
The midfielder has long had an influence on transfer policy at Barca, but it was always informal. Messi now has it on paper that he can have a major say on any transfer decision made by the club.
It was Messi, beyond anyone else inside the club, who drove the deal to bring Paulinho to Barca in August.
