Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to reveal that he is closing in on a comeback for Arsenal after he missed the Gunners' goalless draw with Chelsea last Sunday due to injury.
The Germany playmaker missed the stalemate at Stamford Bridge due to a minor knee problem as Arsene Wenger's men were widely praised for an impressive display against the Blues.
Some pundits suggested that Arsenal produced a better performance due to Ozil's absence from the team against the west London side.
Arsenal return to Premier League action on Monday night when they take on West Bromwich Albion at The Emirates.
It remains to be seen whether Ozil will be fit for that game, but the World Cup winner looks as if he is in high spirits as he closes in on a comeback for the north London side.
Ozil posted the picture above on his personal Instagram account and wrote the caption: "Good news: I'm back training on the pitch.
"As you might have heard I'm suffering from a minor inflammation of my knee. Feeling better each day now and hope to be back playing very soon! #London #COYG @Arsenal"
Arsenal have not won the Premier League title since their famous unbeaten triumph in the 2003-04 season under Wenger.
The Gunners finished fifth in the Premier League table last season as they missed out on a place in the Champions League and had to settle for Europa League football this term.
