Honest Men squeeze past Stranraer in west-coast derby

Leaders Ayr maintained their 100 per cent start to the season but were made to work for it by derby rivals Stranraer as they came out on top in a seven-goal thriller.
The home side opened the scoring through Ryan Wallace but Declan McDaid levelled with a smart shot from the edge of the box.
It was 2-1 to Ayr when neat build-up play from Ross Docherty played in Craig Moore and he blasted the ball home and Michael Moffat added a third to seemingly put them in control.
However, Ryan Thomson's bullet header made it 3-2 and his second of the game brought Stranraer level.
There was to be more drama at the death as Ayr nicked it 4-3 through Paddy Boyle's breakaway strike.
Raith came from behind to beat Forfar 3-1 with goals from Lewis Vaughan, Liam Buchanan and Greig Spence, while first-half goals from Thomas O'Brien (OG), Nathan Flanagan and Chris Duggan were enough for East Fife to beat Arbroath 3-2.
Elsewhere, Ryan Tierney scored the decisive goal as Airdrie claimed a 2-1 win at Albion and Adam Martin's late strike boosted Alloa to a 1-0 victory over Queen's Park.
