Man City midfielder Gundogan: Real Madrid move was close

Manchester City midfielder Ilkay Gundogan admits he could've joined Real Madrid earlier in his career.
Gundogan says Real made a bid, but Borussia Dortmund refused to do business.
"I'm not 100 percent sure but I do think there was serious contact between Real Madrid and Borussia when I was at Dortmund," he revealed.
"I had a contract there and the club didn't want to sell me if they didn't have to.
"That happened before my final year and then I eventually ended up joining City."
