Man Utd have launched a £36m bid for Sergi Roberto
The Barcelona ace impressed for the Spanish giants last time out.
Roberto started 39 games in all competitions last season, netting one goal and chipping in with six assists.
The Spain international, 25, has been linked with a Nou Camp exit in recent weeks and Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim United have upped their interest.
They reckon the Red Devils offered £36m (€40m) for the Barca utility man but the La Liga giants turned it down.
Mundo Deportivo add that Chelsea are also eyeing Roberto this summer.
They say Antonio Conte feels Roberto, who played as a right-back last season despite usually plying his trade in midfield, is the perfect utility player to bolster his squad.
However, Nou Camp chiefs plan to hand Roberto - who is keen to stay - a new contract.
Roberto would become United's fourth summer signing if he makes the switch to Old Trafford.
The Barca ace would follow Romelu Lukaku, Nemanja Matic and Victor Lindelof to the Red Devils.
