Alexandre Lacazette is a target for Arsenal
That's according to French outlet Le Progress.
They say the Ligue 1 club chief was accompanied by former Liverpool boss and current Lyon advisor Gerard Houllier.
It was at this meeting that the option of Olivier Giroud heading the other way to Lyon was first raised.
Lacazette was expected to join Atletico Madrid this summer but that move collapsed when their transfer ban was upheld.
And Le Progress claim Arsenal have stepped up to offer Lacazette a way out of Lyon.
He has made it clear he wants to leave this summer after being linked with a move for a number of years.
Arsenal are long-term admirers of the France international and could be closing in on their man.
The Lyon bigwig admitted he has been travelling around on transfer business.
Arsene Wenger could be close to signing Alexandre Lacazette
He said: "Gerard Houllier is with me, accompanies me, concerning the possible negotiations."
"The transfer of Alexander to Atletico can not be done."
It is unclear how much Lyon are demanding for Lacazette but including Giroud in the deal would certainly bring the price down.
The Gunners have been looking for a top-class striker for some time and the 26-year-old could fit the bill.
