The 2016-2017 season is only the second time in Bundesliga history that two players have reached 30 goals after Robert Lewandowski and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang both hit the mark.
Borussia Dortmund's Aubameyang finished the season as the Bundesliga's top goalscorer after two finishes in the final match of the season left the Gabonese with 31 league finishes.
Bayern Munich's Lewandowski looked likely to take the award with his 30 league goals this season but a failure to score on Saturday saw Aubameyang overtake the Poland international.
Both strikers have been in sensational form this season and their respective goalscoring exploits have led to a first in the German top flight in 43 years.
According to Gracenote it is only the second time in Bundesliga history that two players have hit 30 goals, with Jupp Heynckes and Gerd Muller the duo to do so in the 1973-1974 campaign.
It is the second consecutive campaign that Lewandowski has managed 30 league goals for Bayern, but it is the first time that Aubameyand has reached the figure in league football.
